Back with more matsuri-action from Ebisu!
As always, its great watching the party of onlookers planted behind the wall at Minami, urging other drivers to get as close as possible. I still see plenty of space between there, man!
The friendly and hilarious driver of this Chaser struck up a conversation with me about his car, which he described as a “Japanese erotic machine”. I never got to see it out in action, but I can imagine it gets just as many ladies as it does standing still. So clean!
It wasn’t all JDM, and this E36 was getting plenty sideways on the North Couse.
We’ve all seen it before, but this Laurel just has all the marks of a true missile.
On the opposite end of the spectrum, but no less hardcore, was this orange FC. It was sporting some crazy paintwork too!
This driver was plotting which of Ebisu’s many circuits to tear up next…
Another true missile. Probably one of the most active of the entire weekend, everytime I saw him, he was going all-out!
I kept hoping this DR30 Skyline would do the same, but it sat quietly most of the weekend. I only saw him out on the track once.
Proof that the action never really stops at Ebisu, drivers like this went well on into the early morning hours. Two of the courses are open around the clock, and you can be sure there was no complaining about lack of track time.
A quick sleep in the car, a bite for breakfast, and its back to getting skids in!
Waiting for a bit of grip action, this blue FD was looking lovely.
Police Missile back in hot pursuit. Always one of my favorite cars to watch at the matsuri.
As the festival winds down, drivers get a bit less concerned with conserving tires, and more focused on having fun. Its all about high speed entries on the west course!
