The start of autumn in Japan means a lot of car shows take place as the weather becomes a bit cooler. Early autumn’s lack of race events in my area was more than made up for in the amount of amazing machinery on display at various meet-ups. Most recently, Option Magazine had a meeting to commemorate their 30th Anniversary as a publication.

Hellaflush’s first big event on Japanese shores was a huge success, to say the least. While its roots come directly from Japanese custom automotive culture, the term “hellaflush” was first associated with a scene that was technically born Stateside. That said, Japan may be the place where Hellaflush is at its biggest and best.
Last weekend’s Mooneyes All Odds show was a chance to see some interesting Japanese domestic models that have almost disappeared from roads in Japan. This meet-up was all about rare and unusual JDM rides, and there were a few great examples of models that I had never seen before in real life. …And speaking of meet-ups, keep an eye out for our report on Hellaflush Japan coming soon!
One of Japan’s largest gatherings of eight-five and eight-six owners took place this week in the hills near Tokyo. It was amazing to see such a huge variety of cars come out of the woodwork, turning up by the hundreds.

The guys over at SDU (Skylines Downunder) put on proper good meets, and this Fridays one was no exception with some awesome cars turning up like this R34 GTR V-Spec II (we’ll be doing a feature on this car very soon) and a great turnout.
Had to head out to Hampton Downs today to check out the Auckland Motorsport Track Session. It was a brilliantly run event with many fantastic cars turning up.
